About Me
I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Terra. I’m a mom, and a seasoned advertising and marketing exec. As with most people, from the outside, it might look like my life has been great. And in many ways it has: I became a VP in my 20s and moved to New York, I’ve been an entrepreneur, I’ve traveled to some of the most amazing places in the world, and I have the sweetest, and most wonderful son (my best friend in the world) named Sébastien.
However, I’ve really struggled, having come from a tough childhood, and struggled with a chronic disease that almost killed me. Growing up, I didn’t have any role models for happiness, or how to do things “right.” I was mostly alone, with little friends or family, so I had to go out and learn everything important in life, including how to survive, and how to thrive in this crazy thing called life. This turned out to be a blessing, in that it turned me into an avid, endless learner, with an open mind about how to “do” life. This site is dedicated to sharing what I’ve learned, so that others can benefit. I’ll share all kinds of things, from lessons on health and happiness, to business advice. I’ll do my best to answer questions, be as real as possible, share things I think are important, or that I wish someone had taught me.
Terra means “earth,” as my heritage is Mestizo (Spanish & Navajo) but unfortunately, not getting to grow up around much of that amazing culture, I like to joke that it’s fitting because I feel like I started life face down in the dirt. But I learned such beautiful things come from the dirt. Brick by brick, I’ve been building a home on my unique place on this earth. I call this idea: TerraVilla. Like all villa’s, sometimes it burns down (as my actual home once did), sometimes there are tears or tradegy inside, but if you can find your true homebase, you can always rebuild and find happiness within it again. No matter what you’re going through, I promise, there is hope.
